Same as others

Our complaint is no different than the rest. We were ripped off, you will be ripped off. You will be lied to and you WILL lose money, make a huge regret of a decision and you WILL be trapped in something you cannot get out of. They are good lying and they are all the same. ALL TIMESHARE RESORTS, DEALS & SALES REPS. If you really want a timeshare they can be great if you do your homework. For every area that there are timeshare resorts, there are timeshare realtors in the area where you can purchase a timeshare for a quarter of the price. You can look on eBay and Craigslist. You CAN get great deals if you look into it. Whatever you do, don't give these clowns or any other timeshare resort salesman the time of day. Don't give them money, don't give them any info. And unfortunately, they don't even deserve any respect.

The only way to put an end to the unethical and deceitful sales practices of Calypso Cay is to file a class action lawsuit for which we will need at least 40 consumers who are willing to file the petition. If anyone is willing to start the class action lawsuit, please consider me in.

Misled to buy Calypso Cay Timeshare

Went to Calypso Cay on a discounted trip to do tour of resort, and was promised free Disney tickets to come down. Cam down one weekend, but resort would not give me Disney tickets until after 90 minute tour, which I tried to register for right away.

I was told there was not a tour until the following weekend and that I would not get tickets until after that. This was when we were flying home. I was advised I would have to purchase tickets ahead to go sooner, then get reimbursed that weekend before leaving, which did not happen easily. I was sent from one person to the next to get resolved.

During that week housekeeping came in while at Disney and stole my wallet & credit cards, and Calypso Cay refused to call police, I had to. Then that next weekend I was not allowed to take the 90 minute tour without a credit card & ID, even though I explained that these had been stolen in one of their rooms. Sales person also lied about the TimeShare to get me to buy it while there. She said I could sell it back at any time, which was a lie.

Even after my husband died, they would not buy back from me while going through financial times. They even demanded my maintenance fees be paid that year before using my week.

I am still trying to get rid of this, since I have not been able to use in four years because of these issues, and have never been back. The access fees for everything, and never allow you to change or fix anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calypso Cay - another attempted fraud

Calypso Cay - another attempted fraud
See PDF attachment to view this message with a set of images taken off the internet from which point I was almost drawn into the scam. The scam originated with the image on the left. A ‘Melissa’ answered the call when I called the Sydney number. She then proceeded to ‘hook’ me with her sales pitch about the ‘almost free’ vacation. Having read to me everything that was already on my computer screen, she handed me over to a ‘Kevin Morris’ – supposedly the ‘Reservations Manager’ of Calypso Cay in Florida. He ran through ‘very vehemently’ his version of the ‘offer’ which was a duplicate of the ‘Melissa’ conversation earlier. As I persisted about wanting to verify the credibility of this ‘offer’ and prize, he became aggressive and assertive, saying “it is my turn to speak, you called us, we didn’t and that should confirm that we are bonafide”. I continued to seek verification, he then hung up on me. I hope others who have experienced such an event, were either not interested and hung up willingly or badgered the person on the other side of the phone until they hung up themselves; ultimately not taking the ‘bait’. By the way, the 90 minute tour was mandatory upon arrival at Calypso Cay. Please don’t fall for this, in fact, tell them that you will call them back – find the number through other known legitimate organisations and this will quell any doubts. Good luck, and BE AWARE, please.

My family and I visited here in April of 2012 for a one week stay in one of their timeshare villas. Upon arrival it was extremely confusing about where we go and how to check-in.

We finally found the place we check into. The people in the office were nice and scheduled our 90 min tour for the next day. Our package included two passes to Disney and a pass to one of the water parks of your choice and the villa all for $598. Sounded too good to be true but we took the tour, an they tried very hard for us to purchase one of their timeshares but we weren't interested to begin with so no was no.

We then recieved our tickets and went on our way. Our villa was like home, comfy, clean, welcoming, with a full kitchen, king size bed and pull out sofa for our daughter, a beautiful screened in porch and a jacuzzi tub. We had no clue how to work the TV so we called the front desk and someone was there in 5 min showing us around and how to finally work the TV and Internet. We even had a great time at their pool and kids play park.

I mean, yes, they do try to sell you everything they can but have some balls and say no! Which we did and enjoyed our dream vacation for $598!

You must have been paid to say that or work for them, because the villas we stayed in was horrible, stained couch, dirty floors, trash in hallway, locks broken, off of the property, view in the parking lot, no screed in porch or jacuzzi, etc....or you just have low standards! I would not recommend this place to anyone it was a terrible vacation!

Marlene, what if you are paid by Calypso Cay's competitors to provide the review that you did? I stayed at this property and had the exact experience that Stacey had.

Just say no to the timeshare offer and enjoy your stay. It has nothing to do with low standards. Its about being comfortable and I was comfortable. Not everyone is bugie like you and has to stay at the Hitlon or Ritz Carlton.

Let people make their own choices and have their own experience. "Stained couch, dirty floors, trash in hallway, locks broken, off of the property, view in the parking lot, no screed in porch or jacuzzi, etc." WHATEVER! NOT TRUE. Stop slandering this resort and take yourself to the Wyndham.

Maybe the staff was annoyed because Marlene was being bugie and complained about everything.

Or maybe Marlene works for Marriott. Calypso is a great property and location.

I don't believe that for a second!!!!! Nice try!!!!

Worst place to stay ever staff horrible! Dirty unorganized hotel! I was there in March 2012 it was a horrible experience from check in to check out I felt so bad for my kids we were stuck in that horrible place! I hope anyone who considers staying there reads this you will regret it.

The whole staff covers for each others mistakes and there's no top person to help with all the problems they just bounce you around until you get frustrated and give up HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!!!!! Disgusting, dirty ,smelly, and above all disrespectful staff!!

Shame on you for taking advantage of people Can't wait to hear you've gone out of business!!! I shared my experience with others that stayed there for the week and EVERY SINGLE PERSON I spoke with had a similar disappointing experience!!!!

Paying for a Timeshare...have questions and NO ONE IS RETURNING MY CALLS. Money being given for NOTHING!

Visited the Calypsocay Novemer 2012 ...first were were placed in the wrong resort. Called service desk for other issues my CALLS WERE IGNORED.

Went to a meeting made the purchase ands calls still went unanswered. Now I'm home have questions about the purchase that I made was not satisfied. Agent assured with me making this purchase we would have better services ....she also is not returning any calls. Seems to me I'm beind given the run around and have been paying all this MONEY to CALYPSO CAY RESORT for NO SERVICES.

I think this is unprofessional. They sucker you in and take your money, but no one is available to answer questions. I think that's slot of money to give for nothing.

I'm sure you will not want to pay your money for no services. I wish the purchased had never taken place...I will not refer anyone here to be treated this way.

Total Fraud

Received a phone call indicating that I could get a good deal for 5 day 4 night stay at the Calypso Cay Resort in Orlando. Representative also indicated that my family would receive 2 free tickets to Walt Disney or Universal Studios for $250.00. Thinking this was a good deal, I decided to go with it. When it came time to make reservations, I called (321) 248-**** and (866) 495-**** x 105. I received the same message indicating business hours are from 9am-5pm est but was never able to get into contact with anyone. I proceeded to call the hotel directly but they informed me that while they do have companies that are promoting/selling rooms at good rates, they were not familiar with The Paradise Getaways Team.

It took us a better part of 2 full hours to get into out room. The line was out the door.

As an owner, i would expect to be trated differently. there were people that rented a room from them as if it were a hotel and we all stood in the same line and got fed th esame ***. After we finally got into our room they booked someone else into the same room, gave them a key card and canciled ours. When we returned to our room, we found all of our belongings in the hall and a stranger answering the door.

Instead of moving them..... they moved us! To a smaller room in worse condition.

Calypso Cay Resort

Please people run from this nasty, unprofessional place as fast as you can. It is not worth the money that is charged. This is the worst resort that I have stayed in. I have traveled all over the country and this is the only one that I would never go back to. The toilet inside was nasty, and the cleaning lady said the stuff would not come out. Yuck!!! Stains were on the streets, hair stuck to the tub. This place needs to be closed down, immediately. I booked thru Stay Here Play Here and these people don't seem to have any care or concern for customers, only for the money.

Fraudulent Telemarketing

I decided to listen to a promotion about a free vacation in Florida at a Calypso Cay Resort. I asked up front the price not to waste the telemarketers call. This one was named "Will." It is probably a code name for "WILL rip you off." He started out by telling me that it would only take 5 minutes to explain the "deal" and that he didn't think there would be a fee because they get new promotions everyday. I knew that was a lie, but decided to listen. At the end of his trying to connect with me on a personal level by reading "who do you usually vacation with, how old is your child, etc" and trying to get me to say I can really see myself loving a vacation in Orlando, Will sweetened the deal. I would also get free admission for two to one of the big attractions in Orlando. Bottom line the price was ONLY $398. I played along and said I was not interested. He then dropped the price to $258. Allegedly that was the price he would pay if he were to go on this dream vacation. He added an extra 4 days in Cancun for FREE. Sounds great doesn't it? Well be aware that the Florida number that shows up on your phone is a fake number. If you try to dial it, the number is not in service!! That should be your first clue that they are either outright crooks or very smart thieves. STAY AWAY AND READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ON LINE.

Same thing happened to me today. First price was 398, then 298, then 248.

Very pushy. after stupidly giving him my cc info he told me we would also be billed for all resort taxes & fees. Told him he should have mentioned that up front & that I didn't want to purchase. The guy got very pissy, said he was going to charge my card anyway & then hung up on me.

called the calypso cay resort & was told there was no one by that name working there. total SCAM!!!

Had to cx my cc. BEWARE

False information

We already had a timeshare with Calypso Cay in Florida . We went to what they call owner update meeting . The Salesman gave his presentation to get us to upgrade . We told him at first we were fine with what we have . We said we only owe $5000 more on our present timeshare and we are satisfied with that. He ask the interest rate we have on it and we told him 14% . He ask how good our credit was and we told him good then he he could geet us 2.99 % on the up grade he had proposed earlier . He then pulled out his phone using the calculator on his phone to show us how over the life of our present loan with 14 % interest we would be paying about the same total amount getting the new upgrade at 2.99 % with they both came to around $10000.00 on the final payment. After he showed us that we ask if the loan would be at the 2.99 % til the pay off just to hear him say for sure and he said yes on 2 diffrent ocasions .When we get the paper work in the mail at home it turn out the 2.99% is only good til march. Colyso cay resort in Kissimee Florida will tell you anyything to get your money!!!!!!!!!

Calypso Cay Resorts / A scam and very unprofessional

I was turned away at the tour center when showing up there with an alcoholic beverage I purchased on their premises for lunch. I was told I would be subsequently billed $350 for the disqualification. Noone involved was willing to help and accomodate me after nothing ever being disclosed about the fact that you couldnt buy alcohol if you were there for a tour. My whole vacation was ruined, and I was embarrassed by the fact that I was crying in public there while other guests were coming and going. Not a single manager or supervisor did anything at all, and just kept giving me the run around and different numbers to call, and pointing fingers at each other. It was an awful experience and I'm writing my story to hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else.

Calypso Cay Resort-SGM Promotions

Booked a 4 Night stay with Calypso Cay and was going in December around Christmas, the representative I to told me we would be staying in a 2 to 3 bedroom unit that would sleep up to 6-8 people depending on the unit. I said I was not sure how many would be coming but at the present time only three or four but another we invited decided they would come also. When I called to confirm the reservation they said that we would be straying in the Hotel in one room. I said that is not what the rep had promised us when he sold us the deal. I have contact the booking agents for Calypso Cay and they will not refund the money as they it was a non-refundable payment--but they did not do what they had promised in the sale they actually sold it by fraudulent information from the representative. I would not recommend anyone to get involved with Calypso Cay.

Refunds

My partner was asked some details by Calypso cay resort and didn't realise they were booking a holiday. When I realised I rang them and asked for the money to be refunded. They said they would if I sent all the paper work back before a certain date . It cost over £10 but I wanted to make sure they arrived on time, I have E mails to prove they promised the money would be refunded but as yet 15 months later still no refund They make all sorts of promises but no money. We are both disabled pensioners and it cost over £700 which is a lot of money to us. If you could help in any way we would be very grateful.

Calypsocay Resort - Desitinity Magic Vaccations

Had a call from Lisa from a company called Destinity Magic Vaccations claiming that I had won a 14 day vaccation to this wonderful Orlando Resort. When asked by Lisa I gave a fake name, telephone number and address. And as by magic see had this address and number on her system, from details provided by Visa. I was entitled to every thing on offer. However to verfiy the details she now needed my Visa card detail. Again I reeled off a fake number, name and expiry date. Not once did she tell me what she was going to take from this card. Unfortunately she actually tried to verify the details while on the phone, and after several tries she may have realised I was fake. SHe hung up. End of my fun. Are there really people who will give all personal details including CC details to an unknown American ?? company ???

Calypso cay spam call

I received a call from a Florida number stating that I won a free trip to Orlando. I usually don't respond to call like that but I just continued to listen. The representative came on the line, Ms. Simmons. She told me that I won an all paid vacation to disney land, 2 adult tickets, 5days, and 4 nights and then she added on another package of 3 days, 2 nights. It sounds so good. Then she said I must pay the taxes of $198 and how would i like to pay for it. At the moment I wasn't able to do so, I was on my way out the door. So i asked her if I can be contacted later and she said no. She said that I would have to do it now so that they can hold my spot although the offer would be available to me for the next 18months. She kept asking why I won't agree to the deal and proceed. I kindly told her that not at this time as I have to leave immediately to go on to work. She then said, "Well, you're an ***." Now I don't appreciate her attitude nor her tone of voice and if she is a representative of the disney company. I feel you need to check out your employees. Thank You

Disgusting

We checked into the hotel on Friday and didn't get have towels in the room until Saturday evening 9pm. Since we had a meeting to attend to the front desk gave us pool towels to use but no washrags. The hotel has 2 elevators to use that were very slow and eventually 1 broke down, the other expired from the last review as of 8/1/11 after our trip ended. The cleaning staff was friendly but the front desk was a little rude and snooty mostly because of the complaining customers. The resort solicited free wifi but failed to mention that the only way to use the wifi is in the main lobby, not available in any rooms.
